Erectile dysfunction — commonly known as impotence — affects 15 to 30 million American men and more than 140 million men worldwide. It is estimated that in the past only 10 percent of men affected by erectile dysfunction (ED) sought treatment. There are concerns that much of this may be linked to oestrogenic elements in the environment. There is no doubt that since the development of Viagra and similar drugs much less research has gone into treatment and most of the effort seems centred on relief of the symptom.
